Nanaimo British Columbia

Nanaimo is the middle hub town of the Vancouver Island in British Columbia in Canada. It’s the 2nd major city on island as well as has the 2nd largest harbor. In a lot of ways it’s the lesser cousin of the Victoria. Like much of Vancouver Island it has shifted from being principally an industrial municipality to the tourist town that draws a huge figure of retirees from the rest of the Canada.
The city is situated on the Vancouver Island which is approximately 110 kilometers northwest of the Victoria, and 55 kilometers west of the Vancouver, alienated by Strait of Georgia, other than openly associated to the Vancouver through BC Ferries. Through virtue of its nearness to the Vancouver, the Nanaimo is the entry to a lot of other destinations both on island —Comox Valley, Tofino, Campbell River, Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, Port Alberni — and off its coastline —Protection Island, Newcastle Island, Valdes Island, Gabriola Island, and lots of other of Gulf Islands. The Nanaimo has frequently been named to as 'A mall in search of a city' because of the malls which extends from north to the south.

There are a lot of beautiful spots and events in Nanaimo.

• Bathtub Racing. This is a yearly competition of bathtubs which have been exchanged into boats and compete throughout the harbour of the Nanaimo.

• Pioneer Plaza. This is situated at the end of the Bastion Street; you would find markers for the self-guided walking excursion of downtown center.

• Nanaimo seawall. This is a pedestrian pathway which winds along the harbor from Cameron Island in the direction of Nanaimo Yacht Club. The visitors particularly enjoy the segment of seawall near Bastion, wherein the restaurants and craft shops dot the lane.

• Swy-a-lana Lagoon Park. This is the saltwater lagoon which utilizes the tide's natural flow, creating the abode for marine life. It offers powerful views of the harbor, Gulf Islands, as well as coastal mounts.

• The Bastion. This is known as oldest free-standing of Hudson's Bay Company citadel in the North America.

• Nanaimo Museum. This is located in the waterfront and in the downtown center. This brings history to the life with its enthralling depictions of the early coastal livelihood on the Vancouver Island, from the European, First Nations and Chinese’s standpoints. Visitors could discover the coal mining display. Discover on native life throughout personal indications, hands-on displays and audio-visual appearances. Find out what's made Nanaimo mark in post-coal mining age. The recently modernized upper gallery would have exhibits on the harbor, community living, making a life and the municipality's Chinese area. The Museum is situated in Piper's Park that is as well home to the miner's chalet, a reinstated 1890s locomotive, imitations of thenative carvings in the stone and more. The Museum’s mark exhibits change 3 times every year and exhibit the whole thing from the vintage undergarments to the shellfish to the record of the radio in Canada.

• TreeGo, Ziplines, and Bungy Jumping at the WildPlay Element Park. (Previously recognized as Bungy Zone). During summer, the park opens 7 days per week from 10:00AM to 6:00PM. Check out the website or grab a call for the off-season hours. North America's primary and many would say most permanent lawful bungy jumping site.

• Nanaimo Dragonboat Festival. This is yearly 3 days incident held in the Maffeo Sutton Park. More than 70 teams as well as 1,400 participants become involved this yearly event.

• Scuba Diving: The city of Nanaimo has world well-known scuba diving which has cold water.

• Camping/Hiking on the Newcastle Island. The Newcastle Island Provincial Marine Park proffers stunning trails all the way throughout beautiful forests and by the side of its wild coastline. For 10 minutes ferry ride from the downtown.
